I read this short story last night (44 pages) and enjoyed it very much. It is a touching story of a man who left this life without letting his wife know that he really did love her. He has been attached to his desk and seemed to be only able to go where the desk went--which is how he came to Chris's house. She bought the desk from an antique dealer for her new house and he arrived with it. After being dead for 6 years he was surprised when Ron, (Chris' sister), and Joe could see him.(Ron & Joe are ghosts too) After listening to his story, Ron decides to get her sister, Chris, who is a medium and can see ghosts, to help him. Chris arrives after Ron's SOS phone call and takes over. I won't give away the story but will only say that being a writer before he died is one of the things that helped him with his wife. This had a sad but satisfying ending. You don't have to have read "Restless Spirit" to make sense of this story--it is a stand alone story which is one of the things I always look for in a book.

A charming and inventive vignette from the story world of "Restless Spirits". However, the character of Joe seems to have very little to do in this tale. Perhaps his relationship with the main character is an anticipation of the planned sequel.
5/5 This story was amazing. After reading Restless Spirits this was a perfect follow up with the beloved Veronica and that charming personality of hers.

If you have not read Restless Spirits yet I highly recommend you do so first. It lays the base story line behind the characters .
I enjoyed this book very much. Even though it is a short story, it was complete. Ms. Bauhaus is a very talented author.
She had me caught up.in her story wanting to know what was going to happen next, but happy and surprised by the end. Can't wait for the next one.
The second in a series of stories with these characters, it's an enjoyable read. It's not a mystery in the sense that the first one was, but there's still that element. Sweetly romantic, if you're looking for a good lunch time read, pick this up. This is a short tale and you probably should read the novel that comes before this, though that's not required.
I read the first novel, Restless Spirits, last fall and couldn't wait for the next story. Love Letter brought me back to Ron, Joe, and Chris's world, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. This story has the same warmth and heart of the first novel, and it genuinely made me laugh more than a few times. Bauhaus is strong writing about emotions and relationships, but they never feel overwrought or unearned. I think anyone who likes ghost stories, romance, or both will enjoy this book. I can't wait for the next book in the series and will have to reread this and Restless Spirits in the mean time. Fortunately, they're just that good.
