This is my second time reading this. I am not very good with reviews, but I have to take a moment and tell people how much this book has touched me. As a parent, as a sappy female...as a wife that had a husband going through exactly what Ryan went through in the later part of the book. Amanda reached in, squeezed my heart...and didn't let go. It was absolutely, fabulously wonderful. All the feels. To my fellow readers....

Please read this. On a quiet day, or when you won't be distracted. This story is not one to not have in your bibliophile heart. Thank-you Amanda. Your words always touch me. Every time, but this time... they have set the bar for what my heart needs to feel this type of intensity with a story and it's characters. I've had this book for a while and for whatever reason I hadn't gotten to it. I got the audio so I started listening. I cannot believe I waited so long to have Ryan and Maggie in my life! Needless to say I couldn't wait until the next day so I could continue listening. I uploaded my kindle version and just kept my Ryan binge going. This man will steal your heart. He is so perfectly broken you just want to reach into the pages and hug him. Maggie is so perfect for him. She loves him just like he needs to be loved and you cant help but fall in love with these two. This story has all the feels and will warm your heart and break it at the same time. Not many books make me ugly cry but this one, for Ryan, I so ugly cried. Cant wait to read more from this author.
How does one review a book so emotionally and well written as Sacred Hart? I'm not sure, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

I have read the majority, if not, all of A. M. Johnson's books, and loved them. Each one has owned my soul.

Sacred Hart is a new and powerful masterpiece in its own right. This book had me ugly crying from the word go.

Ryan Hartford, the male lead brings us into his past. A past no one should ever endure. A past so vibrantly written that you, as the reader, are planted smack in the middle of what is going on. I could feel, smell, hear, and taste everything that Ryan could. The first chapter broke me. It made my mind spin in incomprehensible ways.

Then comes along Maggie and Beth. Maggie is the female lead who was dealt her own fair share of a painful past. Just like the way Ryan's was written, we are able to endure Maggie's along with her as she tells her story.

Soon enough we are brought together in a whirlwind of emotions and stories that entwine and abound.

Our minds race with the 'what-ifs' and the 'oh-my-words!'

To keep from giving spoilers, and trust me, I WANT to give spoilers, I HAVE to leave this as is.

All I can say is this if you want to read a book that can pull your heart to a point of pain and show you how one can persevere, THIS IS THE BOOK! This book is splendid, amazing, pure.

A. M. Johnson has done it.

Like I stated, I have read most, if not all, of her books, and they all are amazing. Yet, I think, by far, this is the best when it comes to telling a story of retribution.

This booked pulled on my heart from beginning to end! I went into it blind- Just loving this author from what I read before. It's really my favorite way to go into any story. I'm thinking maybe I should have prepared myself with this one though.

Johnson writes the real- it's what I always say about her and she didn't let me down with this one.

It's a beautiful story about life. How life can twist things and make you bleed but it also find ways to repair itself.
Second chances, aching pain, loneliness, giving yourself and finding yourself--- GUHHH this book.

"It's a promise, Maggie. I promise to try. I promise to give you the rest of what I have left. It's a promise to give you my past and my present."

It's an incredible story and Johnson put her magic in it. I would recommend this to everyone. There is so much to learn from this author and she wins my heart again.

THIS BOOK. WOW. I can't even. I'm speechless and still thinking about it.
I grabbed this book because I was reading so many good things about it on Facebook, and there is something about AM Johnson's writing that I fall for every time. This book was no exception. Holy Cow.
I was completely hooked with the prologue. Like "wow, what a prologue"... and that continued throughout the entire book until I finished and was like.. "wow.. that epilogue". Seriously. SO GOOD.
This story is unlike anything I've read before. It is completely unconventional, and as much as it killed me, I loved the way this story progressed and unfurled. It was true love and happiness at it's finest. I don't really want to say more than that because this is one of those books where you need to read it through to understand why the author did what she did. It was a beautifully written story, and I wish there were more out there like it. Kudos to you AM Johnson- you did it again.
